Male infertility
Tests are ordered by the doctor on the basis of detailed medical interview and selected in order to detect the cause of infertility. At InviMed clinics there are andrologists and urologists who will order appropriate examinations and on the basis of their results they will recommend an effective method of treatment.
All tests ordered by the doctor can be carried out at the InviMed clinic.
Semen testing
The first step towards assessing your partner's fertility is to perform a semen test. This is a basic test in the diagnosis of male infertility, which allows to assess the number of sperm cells, their quality and activity according to the World Health Organization (WHO) standard.
MSOME-6600
The MSOME technique (motile sperm organelle morphology examination) makes it possible to observe the morphology of a live sperm cell at 6000-x magnification. This makes it possible to determine whether the sperm cell morphology is correct and which sperm cell is the best one.
Testicular biopsy
A test that confirms or indicates the absence of spermatogenic cells in the testicles. The biopsy is most often ordered in the case of patients diagnosed with the absence of sperm cells in the semen (azoospermia). The biopsy involves collecting a testicular or an epididymal specimen for histopathological examination. The biopsy is performed by piercing through the skin of the testicle with a needle. The procedure is performed under local or general anaesthesia.
Ultrasound examination, ultrasound scan of the testicles and the scrotum
The aim of scrotal ultrasound is to assess the morphology and vascularisation of the testicles, the epididymides and the spermatic cords. The examination allows to determine the occurrence of pathological lesions, such as varicocele, cysts, or small tumours.
SCD Test
Defragmentation of DNA of the sperm cells can be one of the main causes of reduced male fertility.
HBA® test
The HBA® test determines the ability of sperm cells to bind to hyaluronate and thus the percentage of sperm cells that are capable of fertilizing the egg cell.
